- Preliminary Screening: ICFT reviews whether the organization appears eligible.
- Full Application Submission: The applicant submits required documents.
- Expert Review: An ICFT review panel assesses the application.
- Interview or Institutional Review: ICFT may conduct an interview with the applicant leadership and certification team.
- Conditional Approval: Qualified applicants may receive conditional approval with required improvements.
- Authorization Agreement: Approved applicants sign an ICFT authorization agreement.
- Training and Orientation: The certification body completes ICFT orientation on standards, procedures, review criteria, label use, reporting, and quality assurance.
- Authorization Issued: ICFT grants authorization for a defined certification scope and time period.
- Monitoring and Renewal: Authorized bodies are monitored and reviewed periodically.
